Perfect: A Verb

Every Day

The first post in this devotional series covering the book of Philippians is Devoted to Philippians.

Paul tells the Philippians “For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 1:6, bold emphasis mine)

The word perfect is a verb here. In fact, it points to an ongoing and future action. It’s a certainty, but it will be worked out over time.

What I like about it is the certainty part. It’s very comforting to know that God will continue to work on me until He is done. Or, rather, until the day we meet Christ.

Go GOD!
