The first post in this devotional series covering the book of Philippians is Devoted to Philippians.
Let us therefore, as many as are perfect, have this attitude. (Philippians 3:15)
Every time I read this verse, one huge question comes up in my mind: Perfect??? We’re human. How can we be perfect? Only God is perfect.
It turns out the word can be translated as perfect, but it might not be the best translation. The Greek word is teleios, and it means complete, or not needing anything else added. It can also mean adult or mature.
He’s talking to people who are declared perfect (justified), not those who are completely perfect, which would be only Jesus.
This is another example if Paul asking us to consider ourselves complete in Christ while at the same time striving forward in obedience.
