The first post in this devotional series covering the book of Philippians is Devoted to Philippians.

Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice! (Philippians 4:4)

Immediately after Pauls asked Euodia and Syntyche to get along with each other, Paul launches into more uplifting stuff. I don’t think this was telling those two alone to rejoice. No, I think he was telling the whole church, so that the two ladies would know he was done with that subject.

He doesn’t just say rejoice. He says it twice, using a word that means to repeat it.

Double-rejoicing? What a concept!

This is especially true at this moment in time: as I write this, more and more of the country is going into lockdown due to the threat of the novel Coronavirus-19. People are scared, or at least anxious. Paul’s heart here: REJOICE! simply could not be more appropriate.

And, I’ll leave it at this: REJOICE!

Take It Easy!
