Sincere and Blameless

WHAT Paul Prayed

The first post in this devotional series covering the book of Philippians is Devoted to Philippians.

To be sincere and blameless until the day of Christ; having been filled with the fruit of righteousness which comes through Jesus Christ. (Philippians 1:10-11)

Paul prays for the Philippians to be “sincere and blameless”. When we Christians think of our own righteousness, it is right to understand that we are disgusting sinners. But, here Paul prays for blamelessness. The contrast is staggering.

But, when we think that righteousness comes through Jesus, and not from ourselves, it becomes a beautiful picture showing Christ’s righteousness.

Let us never forget that all of the good that we do or are comes only from and through Jesus!
