Self-Publishing

As some of you know, I’ve decided to self-publish my book. I tried to get it published through publishing houses, but I wasn’t satisfied with the prospects.

Then I ran across a book that helped me understand a lot more about publishing. And, when I say “a lot”, I mean gobs of information. That book, more than anything else, helped me realize that I can publish my book.

It is also helping me understand how to hone my craft (writing). It takes second place in that regard to Joyce K. Ellis’s book Write With Excellence 201, which I review elsewhere.

The book is APE Author, Publisher, Entrepreneur: (Disclaimer: As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases:)

I’m reading it for the second time. Go figure: first I read a grammar textbook twice back-to-back, and then a book about publishing. Either I’ve gone completely nuts, or these books are really good. (I lean towards the latter, although some would say that’s merely wishful thinking.)

In any case, I have only applied the hone your craft pieces of it so far, but I’m committed to publishing my Job book via APE’s processes.

This book is a must-read for anybody who wants to publish a book, but doesn’t already have a publishing arrangement.
